New WinFBB-32 version
A new version for the WIN32 platforms is under develoment. This version is now compiled with
the Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 instead of the Borland compiler. The Graphic interface now uses
the MFC classes.
Some information :
- There is (actually) no new feature compared to the 7.00g version
- Most of the basic code is now running quite well
- The new graphic interface is 80% written. Some configuration windows are not still designed
- The FBB kernel (task management) has been fully rewritten to be event
oriented instead of polling the drivers. Now each time something happends in a
driver, the FBB task is awaited and processes the event. So the code will have
a very low CPU activity in idle mode. But all the drivers have to be rewritten !
- All the TNC (or similar like Telnet) drivers are now coded in a DLL. All the
driver DLLs have a set of standard and documented interface functions. New
drivers may be added (or removed) without changing or compiling the code to
allow third party development (or replacement) of drivers
- The source code for Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 will be available
Drivers developped (or under development) :
- WA8DED serial port TNC
- AGW Packet Engine
- TCP-IP remote access
- Telnet
